Presidentti Martti Ahtisaari puhuu konferenssin ensimmäisessä paneelikeskustelussa kansainvälisen rauhanneuvottelun alueellisista näkökulmista. Ulkoministeri Erkki Tuomioja pitää yhteenvetopuheenvuoron tilaisuuden lopuksi. Konferenssin moderaattorina toimii Euroopan parlamentin jäsen Petri Sarvamaa.

How can regional organisations engaged in peacemaking and supporting peace processes add value, and what challenges do they face? What is the role of insider mediators in regional peacekeeping? What lessons and "best practices" can the EU derive from experience of peace negotiations?

The European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee and the Crisis Management Initiative welcome journalists to an international conference where high-level speakers and panelists will reflect on the role of regional actors as vectors for peace and offer insights into how the EU could provide effective support and mediation in conflict situations.

• Mr Erkki Tuomioja, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Republic of Finland
• Mr Pierre Vimont, Executive Secretary-General of the European External Action Service:
• Ms Margaret Vogt, Special Representative and Head of the UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in the Central African Republic
The conference also brings together envoys of regional and international organisations, EU Special Representatives, negotiators from peace processes around the world, and local actors working in the field.
